London Gets Terror Attack

As I'm sure most of you know by now, London has been hit by Al-Qaeda. I first learned this when I went over to The Electric Commentary, which has numerous links of coverage.

Of course, the lying Al-Qaeda regime says this is revenge for Britain's involvement with Iraq and Afghanistan. The reasons for Al-Qaeda striking any one place always seems to change with the times. Like, 9/11 was supposedly for the U.S. backing Israel. Now, if an attack occurs, it will be because of Iraq and Afghanistan, and all that Israel talk will go out the window. So once again these guys show that they have no other agenda but to blow stuff up and spread fear. Do you think if America and Britain pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan, there would be peace? Of course not.

And why would I debate the intentions of a terrorist group? Because I always, always want to know the other side of the story, even if people die. I want to know what makes them angry and what sets these things into motion. The problem is, they are so inconsistent in what they kill for, it's hard to know what to do to make them completely stop (if one were inclined to give in to demands, of which Al Qaeda is also iffy on). We could stop having any dealings with the Middle East, and then we'd be getting attacks for anniversaries--"Al Qaeda says it's the 10-year anniversary of The Onion's spoofing of them on their website, so they decided to attack. Terror alert is red."

UPDATE: Seems as though the bombers were British. Sorry about that, Al Qaeda. Didn't mean to confuse you with terrorists.

I agree with you Chris. Attacks like this and the ones in Yemen years ago have been happening for some time and, sadly, will continue to happen. There is only so much we can do. I think that the solution in the long-term is to spread the peace and prosperity that we know in America to the rest of the world.

Now, how will England act? Will they get angrier and more committed like we did, or will they back out like Spain did? I think that a lot hinges on their reaction, and I have not ability to judge it right now.

This morning I'm not feeling so bad about not living in a big city with a subway.

They will get angrier and more committed. The Brits always do. Too much Churchill in them to do anything else. Plus cowering would make them look French, and they will do pretty much anything to avoid that.

The only way to get them to stop blowing up stuff entirely would be for all (or most) of us to convert to conservative Islam and make our countries Islamic countries and implement the Sharia laws.

Even then evil people will make excuses though.

I heard about this on my way to work this morning. The death toll just keeps going up. It's so sad.

But you can empathize all you want; it will still never seem exactly like something that happens over here to us. Ive got a unique perspective at the moment. Some relatives from Ireland staying with the family. They are really torn up about it. I feel very badly for them because of that and also because the last time they visited was for four months and they were here for 9/11. Pretty traumatic.

When will people stop doing this to each other?
