These Guys Are Crazy!
These field guys reporting on Hurricane Katrina are a sight to behold. I just saw one guy on Fox News nearly get blown away, but without missing a beat just keeps reporting. Same on CNN. They wait until the very last minute to find any shelter. Whatever you want to call it--fearless, crazy, stupid, a combination--it's at the very least an interesting sight.
I can't add much to the thoughts and prayers to the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, but we can really only hope now that they have a speedy recovery from this.

After going through Hurricane Ivan last year, I can tell you how terrrible it is, and it was smaller than Katrina!! The park where we had our rehersal dinner is gone. Many homes still have blue tarps on the roofs, and over half the people that lost most of their homes still haven't received anything from FEMA, except some water.
A very close friend of mine lives in New Orleans and serves in the National Guard. He has been at the Superdome since Sunday night. I have not heard from him today, but I'm assuming he is all right even with the damage. He was prepared to lose everything. His car was on base (on the water) and his apartment is a few blocks from Bourbon street and is a basement apartment. He may lose all his stuff, but hopefully he is okay and in good health.
