So Much For That

Unless the estimates are atrociously wrong this weekend, and judging by the amount of spare seats I saw in SoaP, I don't think they are--get ready to hear that Snakes on a Plane "crash landed" or was "snakebit" after taking in a shockingly low $13.8 million ($15 after the Thursday shows). Talladega Nights somehow nudged to the top spot for the third week in a row, although the estimates are close and could change when they get the actuals tallied.

I don't want to hear New Line Cinema saying this is within their expectations because they clearly hoped for something much bigger than this.

Reviews all around for the movie seem to be, on the whole, positive, which may mean a decent retention in its relatively small audience over the next week or so, although I'm not looking for a Scream type of renaissance here.
