Chris I will back you up on the top three Spike Lee films. I think we are in complete agreement. But my favorite Denzel Washington performance as to be "Devil in a Blue Dress." I hate that me and Harry Knowles agree on something, but what are you going to do. By the way if you guys haven't seen "Dark Blue" yet, go check it out. Kurt Russell is simply amazing. I thought L.A. Confidential was dark, but the cops in that look like Dudley fucking Do-Right compared to the cops in "Dark Blue."
