The other big story with lasting impact this last week was Paul DePodesta (former A's Assistant GM) being hired as the GM for the Dodgers. Now we get to see what a Sabermetrician in the line of Billy Beane and Bill James will do with a big market budget. If Beane can do it with the A's on that budget, can his sidekick Paul make it even bigger? Some wonder if they will be any good seperated. I think they will start to see serious results from him next year. As a guy who loves what the A's have done the past few years, I'm dying to see if the Dodgers can do it now. The Dodgers have read "Moneyball", and I'd be surprised if they aren't contenders every year.

Of course, the questions is, how many WS can he win? The A's haven't won a one.
