Alias Is Going To Get Creamed
So, the fall line-up actually came out a few weeks ago, and how is ABC going to reward "Alias"'s highest rated season yet? There going to move it to Thursdays at 8:00 est. It's going to go up against "Survivor," "The O.C.," and "Joey." Granted, "Joey's" ratings were not great by any means and they might even go down a little more, but it's got enough of a built in audience that probably consists of a lot of people that were also watching "Alias" on Wendsdays. "Survivor" is a powerhouse, and "The O.C." is becoming one; it took away a lot of viewers from "Survivor" last season. I understand that ABC has new shows to work in the system, and so they want to put something behind one of their biggest hits, "Lost," that's brand new. And they're giving "Alias" the same respect by putting their new version of "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" after it on Thursdays, but the situation still means that "Alias"'s ratings are still going to probably go down and it might not make it past the fifth season.
The reason "Alias" was up so high last year was because it fit so perfectly behind "Lost." These were two great shows to run back to back. Also, moving a show's timeslot three times in three seasons is never a good sign. Why not at least move "Alias" back to Sunday and let it lead in or follow "Desperate Housewives." "Alias" may not be high on ABC's radar, and I guess there just trying there best to throw something out there on Thursdays to compete with CBS, but dammit, it sucks for fans of "Alias."

I don't know why Thursday has to have so many top-notch shows lined up against each other. I like "Survivor" but I completely abandoned it to tape "The O.C.," which had also moved from a cushy Wednesday night time slot after "American Idol." Of course, had it stayed, I'd have missed it because I would have been taping "Alias." No Tivo sucks right now.
