What a Game
Did anyone else see Vanderbilt lose to the Arizona Cardinals today? That's what it looked like in the fourth quarter after Volek and Chris Brown had gone down, not to mention rookie sensation Brandon Jones. I'm not gonna diss on Matt Mauck too bad; he got thrown in a pretty sad situation; he actually looked okay.
And I love how the announcers want to toke things up to rookie mistakes. Not that there shouldn't be some acceptions to the rule, but seriously. You should know to step out of bounds when the clocks under three minutes and you're down by 10. You should also know where the hell the first down marker is. And on fourth and one let's not wing it people; have some kind of play planned.
And you're trying to tell me that McNair's back was so bad he couldn't make the trip to Arizona after a week of rest just in case something like, I don't know, Volek getting a concussion happened? And I don't care what any of these McNair haters in town have to say. Volek is not the anwser to the future of this team. He's all flash, but he's not a winner. He's like another Mark Bulger or Tim Rattay. McNair probably could have come in, bad back or not, and at least given them a chance. Volek, and certainly not Matt Mauck, have no clue what to do in those types of situations.

I indeed saw the game and it became increasingly hard to watch. When you have a bunch of guys playing who you don't know and they don't play well, it is reminiscent of watching the XFL.
or watching the Arizona Cardinals play themselves.
