People to Hate, Vol. 1

Ok, if you haven't seen this commercial on tv, please check it out here and prepare to be very, very pissed off and annoyed

http://vineyard.plumtv.com/videos/island_affordable_housing_fund_-_join_us_summer

For those who don't want to click, here's the gist:
There are people living on Martha's Vineyard who "only" make $280,000 a year. But here's the shocker - the average home sells for $695,000 and these people need your help so that they can afford to buy a house and live on the island! Will somebody please show compassion and help these people!

Are you freakin' kidding me! There are people who make 1/10 or less than that and are struggling to pay rent and day care. But we should feel sorry that these people can buy their dream homes at Martha's Vineyard? This is one of the biggest scams I have ever seen. It ranks right up there with those people that run up 50k in credit card debt buying crap and then set up a web site to get people to donate to pay so their credit isn't ruined.

And to annoy me even more, Comcast cable is a proud supporter of this crock. As anyone with Comcast will agree, they must be supporting this income bracket as they will soon be the only ones able to pay their ever increasing prices. I bet that if Comcast took a poll they would find that their average customer makes less than 50k a year and would love help to purchase a 200k home. Yet, Comcast swears they care about the community. I am sickened by this and will be switching to satellite within the next 30 days. I will only keep their service on one account. I have sent them an email stating that on my street here in Vermont (which is a great area!), the average household income (a guess) is 70k. But the average lake front home (minimum 5 acres) sells for an average of 1 mil. If they agree withing the next 30 days to donate and raise funds for everyone on my street to purchase lake front homes, then I will continue my service with them. I'm guessing they won't help out.

I encourage everyone to spread the word about this "foundation" and Comcast. We need to let them know that they have insulted us. We need to let them know that there are a lot more people that need that money so they may live and take care of their kids. They don't care where it is or how it looks as long as they have shelter.

I can only give credit to these people in the fact they have huge balls in this attempt to scam the stupid.

Yeah, that's pitiful. Seriously, there are so many other places where your money could go to make the world a better place. Like, I have a student loan and stuff. Come on!

just to be fair, it's not people making $280,000 a year, its that people living here year round on Martha's Vineyard can afford $280,000 for a home on the wages they make. It's the uber wealthy that come down here and make the real-estate prices out of reach for people who have lived here for generations.
