Fun Movie Discussion Topic

A conversation a day or two ago leads to this post. We were talking about some upcoming movies, like Batman and Superman, and discussing dream casting for things like James Bond and such.

When he was offered and accepted the role of Batman, Chrisitan Bale was actually negotiating to take over the role of James Bond. Now that would have been a pretty unprecedented one-two punch for an actor, scoring the plum roles of Bond and Batman at the same time. He'd have pretty much been able to brag to anyone how awesome he was.

Well currently there's some rumors and negotiations to get Mr. Jim Caviezel the role of Superman for director Bryan Singer. You can read his own words about it in an article here.

Now this has to trump the hypothetical tandem of roles for Bale, with Caviezel hypothetically landing the roles of Superman and Jesus. He'd win hands down in a brag-off between him and Bale had both actors gotten both their respective dream roles. Superman/Jesus beats Batman/James Bond, right?

What do you think about him as Superman? Or about Bale as bond?

What one actor do you think has the current bragging rights for the two most high-profile characters or roles? Harrison Ford for Star Wars and Indiana Jones has to be up there, right?

Brando played Superman's dad as well as the Godfather and a few other of the most famous roles in history.

Anthony Hopkins has had tons of high-profile characters to play, with Hannibal Lector, Nixon, and many more.

Thoughts? Is this a boring thing for my brain to have spent so much time on? You make the call.
