You Gotta Want the Rockies to Win, Right?

I guess so. Part of the traditionalist in me still wants to see the Red Sox win, even though they just won three years ago. But...they won three years ago. And fans in Boston have too many teams winning championships these days.

The Rockies have some sort of oddball, meaningless stat going for them: all the expansion teams from the nineties who have made it to the World Series have won it. That's the Marlins (twice) and the Diamondbacks. I hope the eight day layoff doesn't have anything to do with anything, but the Rockies will be playing a team that is different from the teams they played in the NL PLayoffs. The Phillies could hit, but couldn't pitch, and the D'Backs could pitch, but couldn't hit. The Red Sox can do both.

Also, it might be interesting to see a World Series played with a snowy backdrop.

Meanwhile, what happened to the Indians was not entirely unexpected. With a 3-1 lead but still having to face three top-notch pitchers, the lead didn't matter. But you know, you gotta hate that for the Indians and their fans. That's a tough blow.

Anyway, guess I'll be a Rockies fan for the next week.
