Are You Like Me?

Do you keep waiting for bad Red Sox things to happen? And are you surprised when they don't? You see the right situation arise, like Pedro coming in late and sucking, and thinking that this is the beginning of the end? But then, he recovers!

I remember the Red Sox being ahead in Game 7 last year, and (as I've told often) calmly telling my Indian friend, who had never seen a baseball game, that fans all over were wondering how the Red Sox would lose this game. Of course, they did. Maybe they won't this time. But, still six outs to go.

If they do win, it's because of Schilling. His bravado was the proper cure. He refused to believe all this curse stuff, and he wouldn't let others think that either. The curse is in the heads of the fans and players, and in their reactions. They think (thought?) like losers, and they lose.
