Sergei Zholtok
As some of you may have read, Pred center Sergei Zholtok has died of an apparent heart ailment. We didn't get to see too much of Zholtok, traded from the Wild during the Preds' playoff run. Any kind of death this early in someone's life (only 4 years older than me) is shocking.

I'm glad you posted this. I found this in my email box yesterday, and it saddened me. With a heart problem during a game, one can't help but think about Hank Gathers. Also, you wonder if this was being monitored. Had he had problems before? And, even though I hate to speculate here, would anything have been detected if he had been in the NHL instead of the Euro leagues? I hope not.
In the end, I have to echo David Poile: "We extend our deepest sympathies to the Zholtok family - his wife, Anna, and sons, Edgar and Nikita." Indeed.
