Magical Earnings
Well, Chris was right about one of his holiday box office predictions.
Harry Potter's first day total (for Friday, 11/18/05): $36,385,000.
That's not only a great one-day take...it's a sure sign of blockbuster status for the fourth Potter film. Most films would DIE to have this total after a whole opening weekend. The young wizard is headed well over $200 million.

Just saw it last night. I'm pretty sure I liked the third one better, but maybe I just have to see it again. I'm going to read the book now that I've seen the movie. Maybe it'll fill in some of the plot questions.
And for the weekend...more than 100 million. Holy crap! It's already beaten CHICKEN LITTLE's 3-week tally (around 100), and more importantly for my theories, beat last year's same week...by a ton.
