Interesting on baseball - like the wild card or not, it certainly provides a chance for a lot of teams, mediocre though they may be, to keep their fans interested.  I must say, though, that it's really interesting that the Braves suddenly got all that publicity this week, even though they would be getting killed in the other two divisions.  Doesn't seem quite fair, but we've discussed that before.

You know one thing that realignment has brought, unfortunantly?  The devaluation of all teams in the AL Central.  It simply is not reported nationally about who is doing well, who the stars are for these teams, etc.  You don't hear much about this race, and it's not a bad one.  Watching the All-Star game last week, the announcers kept having to tell you who the players were for those teams (and others, to be sure), because the casual fan had not heard of them.  You would not have had that problem with the Royals and Twins 15-20 years ago.  Now they simply don't matter, even if they put a winner on the field.  That's really a shame.
