A few Blogger thoughts

By the way, Mike, sorry I couldn't talk more on the phone earlier. Being a Thursday, it's the busiest, most wacked-out day in a movie theatre and there were nearly a hundred things coming at me at once. Anyway, the whole argument thing seems to be a big misunderstanding, but I am a big fan of harsh and "wrong," when people let loose on spirited debate. Everyone has said their sorries, these comments were undeserved, we can totally move on now and talk intelligently about the subject at hand. However, when something is wrong and needs to be cleared up, I find nothing more entertaining than scathing discussion. I love the spirit of "anything goes" and "nothing is taboo", and that's just me.

Not let me clear something up here, I am not a fan of a site that gets on a huge tangent full of flame posts. Over ten years ago I was on a bulletin board system in which people would go on terribly personal strands about Apple vs. IBM. It had no bearing on real life at all. It was a bunch of nerds talking smack about megabytes and baud rates. You couldn't reasonably form an opinion without being threatened or called a fag. These kinds of posts in cyberspace still exist, but I do my best to avoid them because the scathing commentary went out the door and entered into base observations of scatology and impossible fornication techniques.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that I enjoyed this for the mere reason that it got people talking and it caused a (very slight, in the grand scope of things) furor. We now understand who the real bad guys are in all of this, and we're not included...in so many ways.

Also, I don't have any movie reviews for Friday. I saw about half of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow last week and was kind of underwhelmed, but cannot officially say that's my opinion since I haven't seen the whole thing yet.
