Good Points Mike
You're right that Peyton's interception was his own. And we Colts fans have just had to accept that he's going to do that once in a while (though thankfully not three times a game anymore). And yeah, he's as much to blame as anybody else (except Edge) for the loss.
As for my prediction. Maybe it's bold, but I'll stand by it. Did you see Edge and Rhodes charging up the gut over and over and over? Did you see the Patriots inability to stop it? In this day and age of teams watching tapes and gameplanning...they're toast on the runs now. Any team with a decent running back will watch this game over and over and then copy it, hammering them up the gut. Then you've got them, because they'll have to start piling up in the box to stop you, and you hit them with the long ball to the guy with single coverage. Plus, most teams have better defense than the Colts, and the Pats can't count on 27 points a game. I'm not saying they're bad. I'm saying everyone's gunning for them and the Colts just exposed an achilles heal that--mark my words--will be exploited time and again all year long. I may stand alone in this prediction, but then it'll be all the cooler when I'm right....unless I'm wrong. But what I saw was pretty glaring...they're not invincible. A team with strong D and a decent running back has good odds to topple them. Wouldn't be surprised to even see someone weird take them out like Arizona or Cleveland. But now I'm just talking crazy.
The fact is, the Pats did look good. And if they weren't the defending champs, with everyone after their heads, that might be enough. And you should take everything I say in my prediction with two grains of salt: one for my undying affection for the Colts, and one for my undying hatred of seeing teams with two rings in three years win constantly.
