ALCS, Game 1

OK, as much as I want the Red Sox to win this thing, I was rooting for Mike Mussina to get his perfect game, which he carried into the 7th. Once it was over, I started rooting for Boston to get back into it, which they did. However, they allowed too many garbage runs--they must pitch like they can get back into any game--not just do mop-up work.

Schilling may be hurt...and that substantially reduces the chance of the Red Sox winning. That was the whole point of him being with th Red Sox...to beat the Yankees and claim a World Series. Now, there's no telling what's going to happen. With him gone, are these Sox any better than last year's team? Kind of difficult to say.

Unfortunately, got to work tonight. Won't be able to see Game 2, or the NLCS Game 1 (and won't be able to see Game 2 tomorrow, either). I just hope the Sox can get back into it. They showed they wouldn't be trampled, at least.
