Of the 12 teams that made the playoffs this year, I picked 7 of them (3 AFC-Denver, Baltimore, Tennessee; 4 NFC-Dallas, Philly, St.Louis, Green Bay). Not too bad, but not very good when you consider that I picked both Carolina and New England to finish last in their divisions. I picked Seattle 3rd in the NFC West, with a note that they might battle for a wild card, KC 3rd, Cincy last, and Minnesota last. My biggest coup was picking Dallas to go to the playoffs. My Super Bowl was Tampa vs. Denver, with Tampa winning. I wrote that I thought that things might play out almost the same this year and it was completely opposite.

Mike, out of the 12 teams in the playoffs this year you picked 5 of them (3 AFC-KC, Denver, Tennessee; 2 NFC-Philly and St. Louis) . You also picked the Panthers to be last in their division, the Patriots 3rd. You had the Cowboys last, the Bengals last. Your major coup was picking the entire NFC North correctly, which was semi-hard to do, although you had the Vikings going in as a wild card. Your Super Bowl was Rams vs. Steelers, with the Rams winning.

Jonathan, you's the man when you picked the Pats to finish first, and to win the AFC. You also had KC first and you also picked the entire NFC North. You had 6 of the 12 playoff teams (3 AFC-New England, KC, Tennessee; 3 NFC-Green Bay, Philly, Seattle). You're the only one to pick Seattle to make it. Your worst division was the NFC East where you have the Giants 1st and the Cowboys last, you also have the Giants making it to the Super Bowl--but you have New England winning it all so that remains to be seen. You also, like all of us, picked Carolina last.

These predictions this year, well, we were in agreement that Philly and Tennessee would make it. All 3 of us picked them. 2 of 3 picked KC, Denver, Green Bay, and St. Louis. All 3 of us had a Super Bowl team to make the playoffs (Me: Denver, Mike: St. Louis, and Jonathan: New England)...Interestingly, we all picked a Super Bowl opponent that did not make the playoffs (Me: Tampa, Mike: Pittsburgh, Jonathan: NY Giants). I was the only one who picked a Super Bowl winner that did not make the playoffs.

None of us picked Carolina or Indy.

Also, interestingly, I found a few scraps from the 2002 season while looking for everyone's 2003 predictions. There's a comment from Jonathan in the 2002 version where he has picked the Patriots to be last in the AFC East--"But teams will probably still find a way to lose to them in the 4th Quarter," which is awfully prescient.
