Thoughts on Sosa: I'd bet he didn't do it, although it is an awfully convenient excuse for his home run outbursts. Really, what are the odds a MLB player would risk it, considering how often bats break these days? I know this happened to Sabo at the end of his career, and I believed him on what was essentially the same given excuse. Sabo also said that corked bats are just around and about in the dugout, and it was an honest mistake. I think if you're going to cheat in baseball, you do steroids, not corked bats. He should be suspended for a few games, largely for stupidity, but that's it. And it won't keep him from the Hall. Am I missing something here?
