Okay, I have a scenario for you. You're the coach of a team, down ten points with 50 seconds to go. If you lose this game, your season is done. You have the ball on your own 20 yard line. You have a quarterback with a rifle for an arm. What do you do?

I would look for 40-50 yard passes down the side of the field, looking to get just into field goal range and get out of bounds. If you can do this, make the field goal, get the onsides kick, and catch the Hail Mary, you make it to overtime. It's a prayer, but a miracle is the only chance you've got. You have to do something and take a chance, or your 99% chance of losing becomes 100%.

If you're the Colts, you throw a twenty yard pass up the middle, and lose thirty seconds. Why? This sort of thing makes me so mad. Don't coaches think these things through? Can't they have somebody in the booth who can try to plan on a miracle?
